I write this book list as my beautiful clever daughter plays - TopicsExpress

I write this book list as my beautiful clever daughter plays piano. I am so blessed. Thanks Noels for the challenge. I wanted to share books that have inspired me and possibly changed my thinking, good and bad. They are not in order. I love reading about food and the life people lead around culinary persuits. Eg. Bruce Courtneys, The Family Frypan... Lunch in Paris.... Etc etc. But I love a good crime novel thanks to JD Nixon and sometimes pop into a David Eddings fantasy mood. Michael moorcock can certainly flex his literary muscle too around Sci Fi stuff. But for inspiring reading I like to read about life changing events. So here is the list to date. 1.the guernsey literary and potato peel pie society. A story based on a 1946 post war writer, who corresponds with someone who found one of her books and a huge life change occurs. 2. The psychopath test.. Awesome intelligent, funny read by Jon Ronson 3. All of Spike millegans war memoirs. Just hilarious and snapshots of world war life for him. 4. Irish drinking socks. By Maia Sepp. :) 5. The little coffee shop of Kabul. By Deborah Rodrigez. Do yourself a favour, its a great read about life in a war torn Kabul and the friendships made despite adversity. 6.The scolds Bridal. Minette Walters. I love a murder mystery, well written. 7. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and anything he writes. Journeys that have the power to challenge your thinking. 8. The House of Memories. By Monica McInerney. Appeases the romantic in me. 9. The Bride Stripped Bare by Nikki Gemmel, great read. 10. Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Historical and insightful look at the lives of small communities when all that was done revolved around building cathedrals ... Interesting. 11. I think we could all read The sound of a wild Snail Eating. By Elisabeth Tova Bailey, too. A story about a woman who contracts an illness that renders her bed ridden for several years and what she learns about the natural world around her.. So I now send this delightful challenge to.. Bernadette Willey Richard Willey Toni Morrow Geertruida Tunks Ria Brink.... Enjoy. Cant wait to see what you are all reading.
