I write this post with bitterness in my heart....and a vitriolic tinge in my diction.....Today is the birth centinary of Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw, MC....Sam Bahadur as he was affectionately called by the Gurkhas and subsequently by the whole nation....it is very disapponting to note that The Liberator of Bangladesh does not find a mention either in the print media or its more far reaching cousin the electronic media.....except for a few posts from a handful of Zahls, Vijays and Praveens...there is no time for the nations greatest war hero and the greatest general to devote a few minutes to hail Sam Bahadur....we talk of national character building....well the so called fourth pillar was expected to run a documentary on him from the archieves....to create an awareness in the younger generation....I could not agree more with AK-49 here that the media is selling itself to business houses and is a concubine of individuals who dont even deserve a mention here...it will amount to belittling the larger than life image of the epitome of courage...leadership and decision making....reason for this apathy is not rocket science....Sam can give this world a new nation ...but not votes......In the heat of election wave...Henderson Brooks report.. (facts of which are subject to scrutiny)..sells like ice candy....Rakhi Sawant gets TRP....Modis chopper delay is headlines in this ungrateful nation with a memory shorter than the memory of a Gold fish.....I am anguished..... Kafar hunu bhanda maranu ramro (I would prefer to embrace death rather to be called a coward).... Jai Hind
