(I wrote a thing. Its from my book. Please read like its p cool and its something to do if ur bored and yay characters. Im sure I did the math wrong. Please correct it if it is.) When my classes proved to be too challenging to me, I quickly found someone who let me copy his homework off him. His name was Brendan King and he was an extreme, violently nervous perfectionist. He would rewrite his sentences five times before believing it was worthy enough to be seen by anyone else. When he handed me his papers, he always apologized for the sloppy handwriting, which, in reality, was beautifully done compared to mine. He kept a mirror with him which he used to adjust his piecey, honey-colored hair, God forbid one of the strands werent swept to the right. When he held a pencil, he tapped the table with it five times in between writing things down. He was always tapping his foot or strumming his fingers or humming in an attempt to keep himself occupied. But what Ive discovered about Brendan was that he had a beautiful mind. He was remarkably intelligent, in every aspect, but over analyzed everything he came in contact with. For example, he couldnt just say I like your shirt. He had to say, I like the color of your shirt, it compliments the color of your eyes, which I suppose would be classified as gold or hazel, although it leans more over to the green hue. Did you know that pure green eyes are not a result of pure pigmentation of the iris? Its appearance is caused by light brown pigmentation of the corneal stroma--the thickest of the cornea--containing a small amount of melanin, with blue pigment shining through the light reflected from your eyes. Are your relatives from more northern countries? Because people who live in colder environments, or darker places, tend to have less melanin than people who live in sunny areas. He cant just make a general guess on how far our houses are, he will literally sit there and calculate it. Our houses are three blocks away divided by two one-way streets, and each short side of each block has at least 10 concrete squares. One square can be passed with two strides, so I would take 20 steps down the street followed by time taken to cross the street. Then your house is in the middle of the block and the long sides of each block is around 15 squares, and half of that would be 7.5, so it would take about a total of 45 steps to reach your destination. If Im moving at a pace of 4mph and if I take one step per two seconds, then that would take about two minutes to reach your house including waiting for cars to pass and obstacles such as strong wind or traveling uphill. Meanwhile I wouldve said I live like, five minutes away. He also stuttered. It wasnt anything severe--in fact, he usually had days where he didnt stutter at all--but when asked something, he has to pause and think of a response before he answered. He told me he couldnt answer questions on impulse. If he got excited about something and tried to talk, he would become choked up to the point of having to be silent for a few moments. I always saw him mouthing words to himself, perhaps reciting all the things he wanted to say. You see, Brendan was a really wonderful kid, but being the ignorant asshole I was, I took advantage of his feebleness and kind of bullied him into giving me his homework. It soon became a routine of us meeting in the library every morning, exchanging dull greetings, acting like zombies because of the ungodly hour we were conscious in.
