I wrote my poem One Nation Under God in 2003 during my youngest son’s deployment in Iraq. Needless to say, communicating with God for the safe return of my Marine son was constant during his time in Iraq ... and triggered thoughts that eventually became “One Nation Under God”. And now ... 12 years later ... with what is now going on within America and elsewhere ... it was time to illustrate One Nation Under God with a video ... to better express the intent of my words. Just imagine if … the first settlers didnt come to this new land from Europe to practice their faith in God as they wished and without persecution from those who worshiped the same God from a different denomination. Otherwise, our America most likely would have never come to be without the desire to risk all ... including life on that maiden voyage and other ones across the Atlantic Ocean. Nor has the right to worship God (or not) as you wish … regardless of ones religion or denomination within … changed when America won Her independence. It is a constitutional right! So, the reference to One Nation Under God is actually Americas birth right … This historical fact doesnt change … regardless of political correctness sake or other bias reasons … While anyone has the right to state differently, our great nation was founded with God in mind … and like all earths inhabitants … it is truly under God above!
