I wrote this about five years ago. Lets see how it held up: 0. I actually enjoy marketing technology products. 1. I like bears - real, teddy, other. 2. My friends tell me no one eats more pepper than me. 3. I am (or was, I suppose) a Chemic. No, that is not a typo. 4. I like motorcycles and motorcycling. 5. I liked it better when it was not fashionable. 6. I dont have much use for biker culture. 7. History is my favorite subject. 8. Im a pretty fair mechanic, and do most of my own work. 9. Im a pretty fair carpenter, and do much of my own work. 10. I am, in many ways, a mile wide and an inch deep. 11. I feel extraordinarily lucky to have met and married my wife. 12. Every time I sell a motorcycle, I rediscover why I should never sell a motorcycle. Especially not the John Player Special I once owned. 13. I am still aspiring upward (okay, that is redundant, I suppose, but I want to be clear) and I hope to be a better person tomorrow than I am today. 14. I think every should aspire upward, not downward. Downward seems fashionable nowadays, though. Its sad. 15. I wish I had learned to fly a plane. I may yet. 16. I once thought skydiving would be fun. I still do. But I once knew an ex-professional parachutist who said that anyone who jumps out of an airplane that isnt burning is crazy, so I have never skydived. 17. Note 16 is a metaphor for my life. 18. To this day I cant quite understand why a person like Terri ******* could have managed to have the life she had. (See note) 19. I mostly enjoy being self-employed, and Ive learned much from the experience that I never expected to learn. One of the things I learned is that it can be a great luxury, sometimes, to have someone who tells you what to do every day. 20. Its often said that if you can dream of something, you can do it. I can imagine many things I cannot build. Its sort of a hobby of mine. 21. All in all, though, a mans reach should exceed his grasp. If it doesnt he will shrink away to nothingness. 22. I love boating, and miss it. I wish I lived on or near the water, and could have boats. Id even like to take a long open-ocean sailing trip. 23. Bacon may well be the best food in the world. 24. I think Michigan and Idaho are two of the most beautiful places in the world. Munich has better beer, though. 25. I am not as arrogant as you think. Close, though. ;-) OK, notes: On number 18, I obscured the name. Said person is alive and doing well, though there were some interesting adventures early on. I think most of the rest still apply, except for #13. Im not aspiring as much as I was then. Also, to #7, Id add all the new discoveries in genetics.
