I wrote this about the feelings of a live concert experience. Live Concert The lights dim and everyone rises to their feet at the sound of the first drumbeat signifying the anticipation is at its end and the show is about to begin. The bass line is exploding and suddenly the drums kick in. A familiar riff is playing as the vocals start. The cohesion of the group is evident as everyone plays their part. The flow of energy between the band and fans is imploding as voices sing in unison in and out of key. The acoustics in the entire venue create a feeling of solidarity. The lyrics speak of thoughts unfolding while the chorus is playing in the back of your mind on rewind like the melody of a silent hymn. The atmosphere is somehow magical and electric as everyone is traversed along on a united experience song after song. Suddenly, you hear the final crash of the cymbals as the drumsticks break in half. It all seems over before it has even begun and soon will become a memory of the not so distant past. The crowd, like cattle, disperse through different exits and once outside the crispness of the night air awakens everyone from their self-induced trance and unity now becomes one. No words can adequately describe the feelings engendered by the experience of being part of the crowd and hearing the music played live and out loud. tam
