FIGHTING DEPRESSION It was a simple thought Yet it came with deep seated hurt It was a simple recline Yet it played back a forgotten decline I sat down and my face fell The writings on the wall spoke of hell The weather was calm, a great day But sadness and sorrow insisted to have their say. It was a poisonous arrow My head became hollow As the thought hit my heart The past rolled in and quietly sat. Yesterday’s many sorrow, My joy, you will not borrow.
