IBADAN POLITICAL DICTIONARIES Though Ibadan town has many English coinages in her tradition like, Shepherd-Hill / Shapati, Too-Dirty / Kudeti, and many others, it was the great Adegoke Adelabu who coined the word penkelemess into our political dico. Very recently, immediately after the inconclusive Congresses of the PDP Oyo state, we came in contact with the word jagba. Jagba is the verb Jagbaed past tense Jagbaing the continuous verb Jagbalization is the noun. If the PDP held a Congress and we tagged it jagba, what are we to tag the happenings in the Accord Party. Accord held no primaries anywhere; everything is done by selection. And the criteria for the selection isnt understood by party faithfuls. Imagine 243 aspirants campaigned, lobbied and paid to contest the 32 offices in the State House of Assembly. The imbroglio caused by the leadership of the Accord led to the stationing of Armoured Personnel Carrier along the Ondo street home of the Accord leader. The new vocabulary now in town is Jontolo. And the perpetrator of Jontolo is Agbalowo-meri. Accord Party Oyo state is now to be addressed as Agbalowo-meri baale Jontolo. *****be free to add yours*****
