> IBEW 98 members will be going back to work at the Philadelphia Energy Solutions Refinery, formally known as the Sunoco Refinery. In order to work there, you must have current PSM certification and a TWIC Card. IBEW 98 Apprentice Training will be holding a day PSM Class on Tuesday, August 19th (tomorrow) at 7 am. Evening PSM classes will be Wednesday, August 20th and Thursday, August 21st, both starting at 4 pm. All classes will be located at 1719 Spring Garden Street. Should you have any interested in taking these classes, please contact Apprentice Training at 215-567-6405. Please contact the IBEW 98 Business Office at 215-563-5592 for information concerning applying for a TWIC card. IBEW 98 also have another work opportunity at IBEW Local 229 in York, PA. IBEW 229 has multiple opportunities to go to Peach Bottom and work for CB&I. This is a less than two hour car ride from our union hall. IBEW 229 will need approximately 100 to 150 or more additional journeyman wireman. They refer IN ORDER, applicants DO NOT have to be badged or have worked in a nuclear power plant before. The contractor is responsible for the training. The outage is currently scheduled for October 20th thru December 8th, the schedule is typically six, twelve hour days, but varies by contractor and crew. They typically begin manning up in September, but may hire some sooner. I urge anyone looking for work to sign up ASAP. The IBEW 98 travel stipend will be in place.
