IBOTA N’ OGBE (1) IBOTA N’ OGBE is a platform on which I wish, henceforth, to deliver a spiritual treatise and economic enhancement discourse for us to regain our lost pride with an original ideological pathfinding. It could easily serve as a platform to postulate thesis, antithesis, or eventually synthesis. In the wisdom of my ancestors Ibota was invented as a vehicle in which children wereentertained or told stories that had thought provoking ideas which were delibrately floated to served as guidelines to keepthem in perspective of societal good/high qualities of behavior, so they could become dignified beings whose primary missions in life is to elevate the community into which they were born. Ibota took place between supertime and bedtime. But with us it takes place in the evening between 16:00 & 20:00 hours . These messages shall be delivered from OGUEDION, the sanctuary of elders, one of the innermost shrines at IGIOGBE(Temple). Igiogbe is the spiritual sanctum of the self which harbours our creative genius known as IRA (Oracle). Ira is also known as Obo(prophet)that helps us through the darkness(problems) of today to the bright light(solutions) of tomorrow. It is at Igiogbe you will find OSALOBUA and the lesser Gods who head various departments of life. OGBE is the movement that guides EGBE N’OGBE(Comrades, Worshippers, Initiates or Adherents of Ogbe)in the pursuit and realisation of a meaningful self worth with the communual dreams of socio-economic advancement with its attendant elevation for humankind. Here, selfishness and abuses/curses are taboo. Those outside of it are known as OGBEH N’ OGBE (ignoranmous of Ogbe).The visit to Igiogbe to listen to IBOTA is called IBOGIE.
