ICHR (Official League of Guardians of the Holy Relics) LISPANOTHECA APOSTOLATE NEWS - For well over 50 years the Poor Clare Sisters in Fatima, Portugal have been distributing in prayer cards and medals pieces of the blanket from the Lisbon Orphanage of Blessed Jacinta Marto. A few years ago they realized they had given away all they had and had kept nothing for themselves for veneration in their Chapel. Last month the Apostolate presented them with half of a large surviving portion of the blanket that the former Mother Superior, Mother Nazareth, now deceased, had given to a Lipsonotheca Benefactor decades ago. The current Mother Superior, Mother Mary of the Holy Trinity, Foundress of the Monastery, received the Major Relic with much joy, recognized it as genuine and then was moved to tears whilst reading the copy of the original letter of authentication hand written by her predecessor. Mother also shared with us a photo taken of herself over 20 years ago next to the life sized image of Our Lady of Fatima in the nuns choir, given by the same Apostolate Benefactor and recently restored.
