ICYMI: Yesterday Senator Harkin attended the dedication ceremonies for the U.S. Highway 34 Bridge project at Agrivision in Pacific Junction. He had this to say about the new bridge: In my book, in addition to national defense, said Harkin, one of the cardinal responsibilities of government is to build and maintain a world-class transportation system – roads, bridges, canals, navigable rivers – the arteries and veins of our commerce. And certainly, this new bridge is a long overdue artery replacement – replacing the old failing bridge with this new, improved bridge.
