IF BDP WINS COME OCTOBER, BLAME IT ON OPPOSITION The Botswana - TopicsExpress

IF BDP WINS COME OCTOBER, BLAME IT ON OPPOSITION The Botswana Democratic Party has eventually managed to undo what the introduction of Khama into Politics was meant to do. He has made the BNF of Moupo look a smooth sailing ship. There was a Party formed from factional wars, and the party also boiled from within as the likes of Moyo resigns under mysterious circumstances. There have been major rebellions within the camp as Margaret Nashas tell all book is one of those, many have either been kicked out or jumped ship to stand as Independents or joined the opposition, the list is long from PPP to Katse. The Party is now more likely to loose power that ever before and it is my wish in this article to argue or reveal that the fifth estate, the Press, Private Radio Stations together with this very media, facebook, have changed the way the BDP used to ride smoothly on their own manufactured public perception. The BDP is a failure, it has bred corruption and managed to conceal it so well that the world probably doesnt know that we have the highest percentage of serving ministers being tried at the courts. The intelligence of the land are personal property and a milk cow feeding major players millions while children of this land are driven into slave camps. I have had the privilege to go to the University of Botswana at a time when most of the key players in the Botswana of Today were also students there. The list ranges from High Court Judge Lot Moroka, Duma Boko, Dumelang Saleshando, Gabriel Kanjabanga, Themba Joina, Molefabangwe and trade Unionists like Edward Tswaipe, Goretetse Kekgonegile, Outsa Mokone, Spencer Mogapi, Botsalo Ntuane, Bolele, Odirile Motlhale, James Mathokgwane, Sadique Kebonang and just about every head of Government departments including parastatals. The Cedas Thamane, Letsebe Sejoe of the Investment arm and many others are part of this group. The Media and the courts dear friends are always going to be impartial, make no mistake. The reason why Khama ignored the Botswana Law Societys recommended list for the Judicial Commission and came up with his own was because he knew that he had to protect his regime with his own people. He appoints judges and just about everyone. The government media is openly one sided, making the private media houses look more inclined towards the opposition because that is the only avenue where their voice are allowed to make some sort of impact. However, the private media as was revealed when they endorsed Moupo over a BDP candidate is well within its rights to take sides. These are not mere parrots of news who do not apply their brains to what is going on.They have to make conclusions on what they see, take positions and suggest the better way ahead. As of now, the Media is doing this country a great service in digging threats, information that even the opposition could not come up with. They are ball players who are on the supply line, feeding Batswana, the World and opposition politicians with the right ammunition needed to clean up our messy Nation and bring about a better setup. But lo and behold for the opposition is failing to fully utilize these break through passes to drive the dagger at the heart of the BDP. Most of the people i mentioned above for your information dear friends were instrumental in the botched take over of 1999 when the BDP escaped with a whisker. It had all began in the early nineties when the likes of Lot Moroka and Powder Matlale who is political dormant taught a fresh generation that the BDP government was not founded on a good governance model, being neo-colonialist. These giants inculcated the spirit of defiance into a generation that would later use subtle tactics to see the opposition for the first time gaining 30% majority in the 1994 general elections. Here is how it was done: Please do note that there was no BTV in the early and mid nineties. There were a few Private newspapers no private radio station and Ian Khama was the Commander of the BDF. The strategy used was that of de-campaigning the BDP through apolitical expressions that came across as truly genuine. Every opportunity at denting the image of the BDP was acted upon. Hell we could even manufacture one if we couldnt find any! Every student Body meeting was used to produce a demonstration that was carefully engineered from a group of say five comrades of the Botswana Socialist Youth to MASS and later the Whole student Community, and it always worked! Yours truly together with other comrades some not mentioned here sat in that gathering that even the general BNF membership didnt neccesarily like. The Print Media was always ready to balloon our actions as we had veteran journos in the likes of Mesh Moeti, Dikarabo Ramodubu, Rampholo Molefhe mhsrp and many others who were also giving their hand at our efforts. We wrote articles that exposed the messenger of the Colonial power that the BDP was. This is a party that had told us that you could never process or sell diamonds from Botswana, that we were better off importing food than producing it locally. It was the same party that switched from three year JC to two years, then three years and then two years again as the next generations of youths were dumped into the not so friendly streets. Corruption was always there, the NDB debacle as we called it, The BHC scandals of Letsholo, and many others until the Famous Segametsi uprisings as we called them. BUT! BUT, today such opportunities and more in the form of extra judicial killings, unexplained deportations, the Basarwa Genocide, stinking corruption, the failed education system, workers unfulfilled demands, autocratic leadership, greed as in land grabs, reserved lucrative tenders and billions stashed by BDP top dogs in offshore accounts. The opposition could have been having a field day! Exposure and coverage is amplified to the last person with a cell phone. TV, Radio and print media galore, Unions have been politicized, the regime is also not tactful in its dealings with sensitive issues, so WHY IS THE BDP STILL IN POWER!!! BLAME IT ON THE OPPOSITION!! From continuous failures at unity to near political inactivity before the elections, the opposition continues to give the BDP a life line. There has not been a single event organised by the opposition strong enough to have Batswana of all walks of life saying, nyaa tomokoraga e dirile thata gompieno, a re lekeng basele. If anything its only the BDP that is scoring political own goals with the opposition merely ball watching. The press has done all the spade work to the extent of intensifying the mud slinging towards the elections. Why is the opposition not going for the gangular for example when it comes to the ISAAC KGOSI CHOPPIES CORRUPTION SCANDAL! Freedom squares are there but they would not have the same impact as boycotts, walk-ins, picketing, demonstrations, surprise protests and many other forms of defiance, non cooperation and revolting. Anti Establishment Judges in the likes of Moroka, Dingake and others are there for the better Botswana, why do you think Kanjabanga is always loosing with costs against Boko? Why did the state loose against Basarwa? why is it always loosing against the UBSRCs? This is a signal that the revolution is protected, we have top defenders like Dick Bayford, also of the Lot Moroka divide, Boko Duma and many other revolutionary comrades i am not allowed to mention who are doing it for their country. This article is part dedicated to them for risking so much undercover to move this country forward. The Print media, together with Duma FM and Gabs FM need to be commended for reciprocating or returning the favour that the BDP is doing Batswana through Khamas daily campaigns and Press monopoly. Lastly, there are rumours that The West is also not very convinced that ours is a true demoracy. The international perception on Botswana has shifted as the BDP programmes and policies as in Backyard gardens and even the Constituency football league have been struck off as poorly thought of. We are at a point in time where ours could be likened to the times of Mobuto Sese Seko being abandoned by the West when they felt he had been exposed. The problem however is that the very same West usually likes to replace one puppet with another, hence the advent of The Peoples Liberation Movement - PLM, to guard against mockery of our National Rebirth. Long live The Sons and Daughters of a better Botswana long-live, down with ignorant, arrogant and retarded proponents of keeping this our country hijacked by a few individuals, thugs and The Local mafioso. We could overcome if we all pulled together and dreamt of one thing, Happiness, Prosperity and Freedom for all. SO OH YEE OPPOSITION ACTIVISTS TAKE HEED AND GIVE THE POWER TO THE PEOPLE. Chiefwhip.
