IF THE MAYOR HAD GONE TO THE WOODS TODAY - He certainly wouldve had a surprise! Thank you so very much to the hundreds of people who turned out today to the Teddy Bears Picnic in support of the campaign to save Woolton Woods. As a result of todays event, a breakaway faction of teddy bears have now taken up occupation of the gates of Woolton Woods in protest against the proposals and to watch over their green open space. Within hours the gates have become a focal point of attention - Well done the teddy bears! Once again this event has sent a clear message to the Mayor and the Council about the strength of feeling against the proposals to build on this green space. With your help today we have gained a further 253 signatures to add to our petition, and in just 3 hours we managed to raise £284 towards our campaign fund. Thank you once again for all of your support and also to Simon OBrien for another brilliant idea for raising the profile of our campaign.
