IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS PLAYING FARMVILLE 2... (updated) Every day I see people posting about having problems playing FV2, either the game is freezing, not loading, white screen, crashing, etc. So in response, I have made this post to share so everyone knows the steps to take to get FV2 working again. Please be sure to save this incase you need help in the future. I am a computer technician and you can always contact me with any questions. Step 1: The only internet browsers you should be using to play FV2 (and most internet games) are Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Do NOT try to play FV2 using Internet Explorer (IE). If you are not using either Chrome or Firefox, here are the links to download each browser. (You only need to use one but you can install both to see which one plays the game better. They are both good internet browsers and I have both on my computers and use them interchangeably.) This is the link to download Google Chrome and allows explains how to set it up if you dont know how... https://support.google/chrome/answer/95346?hl=en This is the link to download Mozilla Firefox... https://mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ If you already have Chrome or Firefox installed, skip to step 2. Step 2: If you are already using Chrome and/or Firefox internet browser, you need to make sure they are up to date. If they are not up to date, you need to update them. I have included the links explaining how to do that below. This is the link that explains how to check if Chrome is up to date and how to update... https://support.google/chrome/answer/95414?hl=en This is the link that explains how to check if Firefox is up to date and how to update... https://support.mozilla.org/…/kb/update-firefox-latest-vers… Once you have made sure the browser you are using is updated, you can continue to step 3. Step 3: Download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash helps games and videos to appear on your screen properly. Even if you have Adobe Flash installed already, you should download the newest version because your version could be old and out of date. This is the link to download the newest version of Adobe Flash... get.adobe/flashplayer/ Once you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed, continue to step 4. Step 4: Download and install the latest version of Java. Java is similar to Adobe Flash and also is needed to play many games. Just like with installing Flash, even if you already have Java installed, download and install the newest version. This is the link to download the newest version of Java... https://java/download Once you have the latest version of Java installed, continued to step 5. Step 5: Clear your internet browsers old cookies. When you browse internet websites they leave bits of information on your computer as cookies. You need to delete these old cookies to get a fresh start for the next time you play FV2. This link explains how to delete cookies in Chrome... https://support.google/chrome/answer/95647?hl=en This link explains how to delete cookies in Firefox... https://support.mozilla.org/…/delete-cookies-remove-info-we… Once you have deleted all old cookies from your internet browser, continue to step 6. Step 6: Restart your computer. This always needs to be done whenever you install new software which you already did in the previous steps. After you restart your computer, you should be able to load up either Chrome or Firefox and play FV2. If you are still having problems and have done all of the steps I already listed.. the last thing you can try (if you are using Chrome), is to check and see if Pepper Flash is enabled. If it is, try to disable it and enable Adobe Flash instead. Here is the link that explains how to disable Pepper Flash and enable Adobe Flash... newtriks/…/how-to-disable-the-chrome-pepper-fla…/ Make sure to follow all the directions on the link including clearing your cache and past internet activity. Remember to restart your computer and then try to log in again after it successfully restarts. If you followed all of the steps, you should now be able to play FV2 (and other internet games.) If you still cant play, your computer may not meet the minimum system requirements. FV2 uses a lot of memory (RAM) and requires a lot of computer resources. For the game to play smoothly, you need a few things: Windows 7 or 8, 8 GB of RAM (memory) or higher, 60 GB of free hard drive space, at minimum a dual core processor but a quad core is prefered, a good video card and a high speed internet connection (cable internet or higher prefered, DSL may cause lags or problems loading.) Here is a link that further shows the requirements for FV2... https://support.mozilla.org/…/delete-cookies-remove-info-we… If you are still having problems playing FV2, feel free to contact me, Aimee Blais. Im a computer technician and always available to help. I might not respond immediately but I will reply.
