The one after will hold up their nose too! Then enter RACE … ETHNICITY all the way up to RELIGION we blame, judge and condemn! That is why I go the SPIRITUAL ROUTE = Mine is not GREATER nor LESSER than yours! None is more chosen than the other! Why? Because a TRULY LOVING FATHER/MOTHER does not PLAY FAVORITES! We are all given the AIR to BREATHE … and all the ELEMENTS! I embrace all of it, why? My region of the UNIVERSE was colonized CHRISTIAN eroding UBUNTU and then we both FEARED – HATED even and DESPISED “Amatshawa!” = MUSLIMS adding a layer of DIVISION and SEPERATION! On top of it all TRIBALISM and therefore POLITICAL and ECONOMIC layers too. We feared their Witchcraft and yet the kids were my friends, neighbors, played in the same teams but we would never venture into their domains! I could never as a kid understand why? I fear not the CREATOR nor the LEADERS it is the FOLLOWERS I fear the most! Then I discover that JUDAISM is the FOUNDATION - next CHRISTIANITY and then ISLAM = all from one FOUNDATION! I have had the opportunity to embrace on my own other SPIRITUAL TRADITIONS and saw their beauty = So like the Christian Parable of the Talents, I refuse to bury mine and follow out of FEAR! Or the worst = STRENGTH or SECURITY in numbers! After all my GRANDMOTHER’s tales always had the TRUTH in the most unlikely PLACES, I must honor her! She incorporated the TRADITIONAL = our HISTORY/CULTURE and the FOREIGN = CHRISTIANITY/White man into a HYBRID that she was able to live with …… always LOVING – RESPECTING and forever HELPFUL!
