IGBIDE MUST RISE Let our fathers provide for their children to grow. Let our children respect their fathers, mothers, elders and leaders, so that their days will be long on planet earth. We are all descendants of Eru, the founder of Igbide. Eru means abundance. Igbide, the land of oil and gas. Eru land has been polluted and degraded by Shell (SPDC) for over 50 years without any meaningful development and reward. Shell (SPDC) divested to local companies from the North (Hausa), West (Yoruba) and NPDC without our consent and given Igbide/Isoko people First Right of Refusal. Where is Igbide (Lessor) Equity Participation? Are we waiting for Eru dry bones to rise to show us the way? Kudos to Barr Okorobia Ejeh, who had no choices but to institute court proceedings against SPDC, Shoreline and others at the Federal High Court Warri. IGBIDE MUST RISE. In 1953, Uruwhre Union, Igbide was formed. The Union raised money to train the first Igbide and Isoko Lawyer in England (U.K) in 1953. Thereafter, many others followed. Selection of Community leadership was based on merit, honesty and accountability. It was selfless service, what you can give and not what you can take from the Community. That was Igbide of our dreams Today, the story is different because of greed, unnecessary rivalry, hatred, envy and jealousy in the clan. We must kill the evil spirit of divide and rule in the Community. The labour of our past heroes shall never be in vain. We must learn to serve today and be masters tomorrow. Leaders are not born, but they are made. The purpose of leadership is not the maintenance of followers, but the production of leaders. All hands must be on deck to build Igbide of our dreams. Igbide must speak with one voice and the time do so is now. Kudos to IPASS. God bless Igbide.
