IGEDE: A Nation Clothed with Failure! I may not be a certified historian, but I have studied history well enough to realize that failure is an inevitable fate that await any nation populated by idlers and mediocres, particularly at the echelon of power and amongst its youths. Read about the Nauri people of Australia, the native Indians of America, the tribes in the Amazonian forests of South America and you will agree with me. I have studied every available chronicle I came across about the Igede people/nation and I have realize that we have no history and thence no future. This is not in anyway meant to demean us but a posit from a baffled and burdened youth honestly saying his mind. However, in comparative study with other failed nations in Nigeria and Africa at large, I realize that mediocrity is a common decimal that is recurrent in all of them, hence the inevitable failure or stagnation that befalls such nations. E.g the native tribe of Swaziland. Let me plague you with some questions; 1) Do we have a king as a nation? 2) Do we have a define history? 3) Do we have a unitary decision body that is powerful? 4) Do we have a youths with credibility? 5) Do we have a course to chart? Etc. Be that as it may, let me not forget to say that as individuals many of us have made landmark achievements but as a nation we have collectively failed. This is because our elders pride themselves in mediocrity and sentiments douched with bickering and clanish chauvinism. While our youths are terribly idle and lazy alloting more of their time to unproductive ventures instead of thinking productively and contributing positively to the growth of oneself. I challenge my fellow youths today to read about great leaders of the world who made it before 30years and your perspective will change. Whether Prof John Uko represents OlIgede perfectly at the Confab or not, I assure you that things will not improve, that will not put food on my table or your table. Until Change occurs things will remain the same. Youths, arise lets re-write the history of this land and change our fate just like the Bulgarians did in the 17th century. ~ By Idoko Marvin~ For Trumpeters Network.
