IGP Kashmir visits Sopore, Eidgah Aged parents, unmarried sisters, young daughters mourn their lone bread earners Srinagar, July 26 (KNS): IGP Kashmir today visited Sopore to take stock of the situation after last night incident in which a policeman was martyred, while dealing with stone pelters. IGP also visited martyr Altaf’s bereaved family in Srinagar who fell to the bullets of terrorists last evening at Bijbehara. According to a police statement issued to KNS, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir A G Mir visited Sopore and took stock of the situation in aftermath of last night incident in which five policemen were injured when militants lobbed a grenade and fired in discriminatorily on a police party who were tackling a stone pelting mob near Chota Bazar Sopore. In this incident Mohammed Syed Khan gave supreme sacrifice. The martyr is survived by five daughters a pregnant wife and aged parents. Later on IGP Kashmir visited the bereaved family of martyr ct. Altaf Ahmed, at Eidgah, Srinagar who was martyred by terrorists last evening while performing traffic regulation duty at Guriwan Chowk Bijbehara. The IGP while consoling the family on the tragic loss prayed for peace to the departed martyr. IGP Kashmir assured the family of all possible assistance and said that they should not feel lonely while facing the tragedy but the whole police department is with them to share their grief and sorrow. The martyred Ct. Altaf is survived by two sisters aged parents with father being bedridden besides two brothers one of them a differently abled brother. (KNS)
