ILLEGAL DUMPING - Caught READ HANDED on Arnold way in ALPINE (By Bill) I was driving to work last month down Arnold Way, just past Peutz valley Rd, and noticed that someone had dumped a big pile of yard waste and concrete along the side of the road. (See photo above) A few days later, I was passing the same location and noticed a big dump truck backed up with its dump box extended. I did a U-turn, came back and snapped a photo of the truck. (See below) The license plate on the truck was “OB TURF”, and they were clearly doing some illegal dumping right there alongside Arnold. I called Diane Jacob’s office and they referred me to a different county agency and took a report. A few days later, the county sent a crew out that cleaned up all the waste and also put “$1000 fine for Littering” signs up and also a chain-link fence at the turnout that had been used as a dumping site. Please keep an eye out for companies that want to use Alpine as their personal dump, and report any suspicious activity. I would also recommend that you do not do business with companies like Ocean Beach Turf that have no regard for our community and choose to dump here rather than pay the fees at a county facility.
