IMO PDP AND 2015: Matters Arising. On Monday 22nd September 2014, a high powered delegation from the National Working Committee (NWC) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Alhaji Ahmadu Ali, H/E Peter Odili, Amb. Damagum Umah, Prof Gery Gana, President Jonathans Brother King Asara and 5 others stormed PDP state Secretariat ,Okigwe Road Owerri on a Reintegration, Reconciliation and Rebuilding process to heal old wounds and Strategies for 2015 General election in Imo State. The panel Visit was greeted with Tension and Anxiety as Some Aspirants for Governorship Election in Imo and Returnee former members who move out to form another Party in the build up to 2011 election Request for the dissolution of IMO PDP State, LGA and Ward Excos to accommodate them. The Visit stirred the hornet net as Various issues were raised during an interaction between the Team from Abuja and Imo PDP top shots. Following the manner the Visitation panel left Imo State without any definite statement on its findings during the interaction, many PDP members and supporters of Aspirants were left confused as weather the issue of dissolving the Executive of the State Chapter of the Party has been finally laid to rest or not. However, it is not yet ascertained, because forces are still fighting for the dissolution, which is now left for Ali led Team to present their report to the PDP headquarters for final verdict on the issue. It could be recalled that former Governor Chief Achike Udenwa, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Senator Chris Anyanwu who led the Returnee are fighting that the Executive be dissolved so as to accommodate them. Alleging that failure to dissolve the Executive will favour certain Aspirants during the PDP primaries, since many of the Executive members will determine the fate of Aspirants. However, the former Governor Ikedi Ohakim is stoutly standing behind the present Executives and against dissolution of the Executives with the reason that such exercise at this will cause an implosion within PDP, and unleash problems that may linger into the 2015 election proper, which may lead the party lose some important elections due to bad blood and quarrels. Ohakim said he was speaking from experience, that the general interest of the party should be uppermost now than the individual ambitions of some people. The former Governor disclosed that any attempt to dissolve the present Executives will sow untold discord within the party, including a raging war that may ensure among the party Big wings in a fight to control the party, even as the 2015 election approaches. Those in attendance are: chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, H/E Achike Udenwa, Chief I.D Nwoga, Nze Ozichukwu Chukwu, H/E Ikedi Ohakim, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Senator Mathew Ifeanyi Nwagwu, Senator-Hope Uzodinma, Senator Chris Anyanwu, Rt Hon Bethel Amadi, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie and State working committees, Elected Local Government Chairmen led by Ruby Emele, Hon Sokom Rexanunobi, All members of House of Representatives, All PDP Enlarged Executives, All PDP stakeholders, All PDP Aspirants, All PDP former Dis & Dat, etc. Note: Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha was on an important National assignment that day, so acknowledged.
