****************IMPORTANT! A Reminder about No-Shows******************** Hey guys! Were serious here! This weekend alone (on 3 hikes) we had six no-shows (people who didnt come AND didnt tell us, before or after the hike, that they couldnt make it). Its a big deal when we organize a hike and a load of people simply dont turn up without letting us know. If youre not reasonably sure if youre going to come on a trip, give someone else a chance and dont sign up! If things change, let us know by un-signing up as soon as you can. If on the day of the hike, youre sick, you just got in a big argument with the boy- or girlfriend, or your alarm bell doesnt go off, thats probably not a problem for any of us, but please contact us asap by phone message, or by email if thats not possible! If you wake up, the weather looks dodgy, youre hung-over, you have a bad hair day, or just dont fancy being sociable we may well forgive that too. But you MUST let us know you couldnt make it (and a simple sorry would be appreciated too.) You wont know how it feels having no-shows on your hike unless youre a hike leader, but the feeling aint good at all! So please communicate, let us know whats happening (or not happening) and above all RESPECT the time and effort of a growing band of Taipei Hikers (at least 11) who are now regularly leading hikes - completely free of charge. The rules are (a bit) flexible, but the LEAST strict of us are now removing no-show members from the group after 3 strikes; many hike leaders (in this and other free hiking groups in Taipei) are less forgiving. GOTTIT??!!!
