IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM SRA. LOPEZ WAITE: Due to our concerns about student safety, we have been monitoring the weather forecast all day today. We were specifically concerned about the cold temperature with extreme wind chills predicted for tomorrow morning. Since our students reside throughout New Castle County, we had to consider whether a 2-hour delay or closure would be in the best interest of our students, families and team members. After considering all scenarios, we decided to close school tomorrow. Although we were confident in our ability to provide our students with a safe and warm environment once at school, we were concerned about the extreme wind chills forecasted throughout the morning hours which would impact all of our bus riders. We hope our families will appreciate the careful consideration given to this decision. Please note that students have been given assignments to be completed tomorrow, which are due on Friday.
