IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT I’m very excited to announce that Kathy Maskell has accepted our offer to become Blue Route Vineyard’s Associate Pastor; Discipleship. Kathy was one of over 20 candidates who applied from around the nation, and even from several other countries. Many of these candidates, including five from Blue Route Vineyard, brought outstanding gifts and experience to the table. More detailed biographical information will be available at this weekend’s services, but for now, let me summarize her substantial career to this point. Kathy and her husband Caleb, along with a another couple, planted and served as co-pastors of Elm City Vineyard near the campus of Yale University in New Haven, CT. That era coincided with her time as U.S. Advocacy Director for Love146, our allies in the fight against human trafficking. It was in that role that we first met her when she came to our church to preach several years ago. Since then, Kathy has attended and graduated from Union Seminary in New York City, been a pastor at The River NYC Church, been a fellow at The Poverty Initiative, worked to educate and network Vineyard’s anti-trafficking and justice initiatives, and served on the Executive Board of VineyardUSA. Kathy’s hard work and critical life decisions demonstrate her love for and commitment to the Lord. She’s creative, kind, fun to be around, proactive and a systems thinker well-suited for our fast moving (and rapidly growing) church. You’ll learn more about Kathy, Caleb and their son, Jojo in the days to come. But for now, she starts on July 1st and I can’t wait to work with her.u Before I close, let me thank the Staff Planning Committee, led by Karen Wolters and including Melissa Kaiser, Deb Fooskas, Dirk Ohley, Zora Wolfe, Marty Irons, Brian Brewer and myself, which has worked on this hire since January. In that time we have added two exceptional pastors to our staff, Tim Delehanty and Kathy Maskell. Remaining is our search for the right person to take the youth ministry into the future. We are grateful to God today. We have asked for his leadership and sense strongly that with both Tim and Kathy, we have been answered. His and yours, Mark Tindall
