IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! When I started this journey a little more then two years ago I had no idea honestly what I was doing, I bought a microphone for $100 and recorded my first song on the floor of my friends basement, at the time we needed a name to release this new music under and I went through the dictionary and found the word witty, I ran it by a few of my friends and they thought it was cool, so with the pressing pressure of finding a name so I could release my first ever song we settled on Witty (the first option with verveneer, didnt go over well with anyone haha) I really could never have guessed this journey would take me to the place that I am at now, a lot has changed in these past few years including myself, my style, and my identity, we all grow up and evolve, and thats the beauty of life, we all have to evolve, change and adapt or get left behind, recently we have had some amazing opportunities behind the scenes that I will share with you all when the time is right, but one thing that we realized things are progressing to a level we never could have imagined and with that comes adaptation, we realized that witty the word cant hold my identity on that next level, I will never be able to out google search the Webster dictionary no matter how hard I try, as well as making my music as accessible to all of you, the people who I care about most, I dont want you all to have to dig and dig to find my music when we finally put it on iTunes or pandora, etc. with all this being said Ill now be going by the artist name Witt Lowry Dont worry, I promise Im the same person, same voice, same sound, same sense of humor, same look, Im the same person, copyright wise we needed to create a brand name that wouldnt prevent me from getting my music to you, the people who actually want to hear it, I cant have money hold my music away from you and I wont let that happen, Witt is obviously derived from Witty, it holds true to the origin of everything, and the change of dropping the y makes it so when I introduce myself, Im not describing myself Im giving you my name, Hi Im Witty Ok but whats your name? -_- it eliminates this conversation, also this is what I refer to myself as anyways, so it shouldnt be too much of a jump, Lowry is a variation of the word Laurence, which is my middle name and my grandfathers name, one of the most influential people in my entire life, it also sounds cool and is derived from a word that means spokesman, the one chosen to speak on behalf of the community, chief of the clan I sat here for the last 4 days going back and fourth on names, afraid of what you all will think of me, afraid I may loose some of you because of this, but I hope you all realize that this move is for you, its to make it easier to find me, call me Witt, call me Mark, call me whatever you want, just when you are searching it will make everything much easier and organized to find me, I will start the transition, we will be changing the page names, so if you are here already you wont need to go follow a new page, just remember when looking for my music and things from me that that will be the name to look for, we will rock #TEAMWITT till the death of us and it is important to do this now then let it drag on, I hope you all understand, Ill be posting up all the links that we will use, it will be the exact same pages so if you follow me then just stay there, just remember when searching what to search for, I wont do this again to you all, thank you for supporting me on this journey and understand this is a move that needs to be made because you all have helped me get to the level where this move needs to be made, I love yall, #TEAMWITT till the death of me!
