IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS... Dear Friends and Stakeholders, On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee and the faculty and staff of Lake Country Lutheran, Martin Luther and Milwaukee Lutheran high schools, I am thrilled to announce the hiring of Mr. Cole Braun as the new CEO of the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee. We thank and praise the Lord for all the prayers that were offered on behalf of our schools and for blessing the efforts of our Search Committee in leading them toward the selection of Cole. Cole comes to us with an amazing skill set. Upon graduation from UW-Whitewater, with a degree in Business Administration, he began his career working as an accountant/CPA for Arthur Andersen and Co. Since 1987, he has been working with organizations to develop business plans and strategies to attain their goals. Cole has developed strategic business plans focused on growth in a controlled manner in order to maximize the value and success of the business in accordance with the vision and mission of the company. He also has an extensive background in sales and marketing. Prior to accepting the position of CEO, Cole was the owner and president of Neo Designs, Inc. dba Great Lakes Multisport, and president and founder of RACC (Racers Against Childhood Cancer), a 501(c)3 charity whose mission is to raise money for research to defeat childhood cancer. In addition to his extensive business background, Cole also has experience as a Lutheran educational leader. In 1999 he accepted an interim position as principal of St. Paul Lutheran School in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, when the current principal took a medical leave of absence. He was asked by the congregation to be the full time principal in February of 2000. As part of his vision for the school, he implemented a new school structure and developed programs aimed at increasing enrollment and marketing the school to the community. During his 3 year tenure, enrollment grew from 175 students to 221, making St. Paul one of the fastest growing elementary schools in the LCMS. Cole knows our schools well. He has served on the LHSAGMs Board of Directors, coached cross country, basketball and track at Lake Country Lutheran High School for years, and has been a strong supporter of our schools for over two decades. Cole has also been an active member at his home congregation, having served in leadership positions on various boards and committees. In speaking with Cole during the interview process, we learned that Coles personal mission is Biblically based and that he wants to do everything he can every day to be the best husband, dad, employee and servant to God. He believes that he is commanded to work for the Lord and needs to give everything he has. I understand that we are going to all fall short everyday, but I am motivated and committed to give all that I have each day to God and everyone who I work with. I feel we should all be committed to the same objective. It is what God expects from us. It is more than a mission statement - it is Gods message, and it is how I try to lead my life. Coles personal interests include competing in triathlons, running, biking, basketball, golf, racing, music, and outdoor activities with his family. It should be noted that Cole was scheduled to compete in a double triathlon next month, something that he has been training for since 2007, but has withdrawn because of his desire to devote his passion to his new position as our CEO. We are humbled by his sacrifice and example, having set aside years of training, and thankful for his commitment to our schools! Cole is married to his wonderful wife Jennifer. They have three sons, two of whom are proud graduates of our own Lake Country Lutheran High School, the oldest having graduated before LCL began. They welcomed their first grandchild in late December. You will be receiving an invitation from Cole and our Association in the next couple of weeks to attend an informal Meet the CEO, designed to be an informational session about all of the great things happening in our three schools. We hope you can attend! Please join me in welcoming Mr. Cole Braun as the new CEO of the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee! To God be the glory! In the service of our Savior, Terry Rowinski Chairman, Board of Directors of the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee
