*IMPORTANT* Please share as far and wide as you can. Im sure youve all heard the news about the Banksy artwork that was removed by Dennis Stinchcombe, leader of the Broad Plain Boys Club, since the removal he has been condemned by many people and has even received death threats and apart from removing it being the sensible thing to do as the board it was on was only held on by two screws and would likely have been stolen otherwise the police have now taken the artwork away after being apparently asked by George Fergusson the mayor of Bristol who said it was against the spirit of Banksy and street art to remove it. Well theres more to this story than first impressions. The youth club was trying to raise money to stay afloat and mysteriously a genuine Banksy appeared at their building held in place lightly by two screws. The youth club then received a message by a known Banksy friend that they should take the board with the art on it down and dispose of it how they saw fit. I think the message there is clear, they carefully unscrewed the work and stored it, the press then decided they had crowbarred it down (off their own building). There was much elation in the club that they would be able to raise the 120 grand needed to keep the club going…. today the work was taken away by the police apparently acting on the orders of one George Fergusson. Think about this for a moment. All Banksys other work has been done on walls (I.E non removable) but in this case done on a easily removable board I think this speaks volumes for his motives. Therefore I think the Police should return the work to Broad Plain Boys Club and tell Bristol City Council to keep their hands off it.. Like and Share Please..
