IMPORTANT VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINES AND INFORMATION: The deadline for traditional voter registration is Tuesday, October 7th. Online voter registration applications through the State Board of Elections website at https://ova.elections.il.gov/ will be accepted until October 7th at 11:59 pm. Any paper voter registration applications must be delivered or mailed prior to the deadline for voter registration – this means they must be postmarked October 7th or earlier. GRACE PERIOD VOTER REGISTRATION AND VOTING Grace period registration and voting begins Wednesday, October 8th and runs through Election Day, Tuesday, November 4th. A person can register to vote and cast their ballot at the office of their local election authority or at a location set up for that purpose (permanent early voting locations beginning Monday, October 20th). Individuals who register to vote during the grace period registration may also vote by mail at the discretion of the local election authority.
