INDIA RELEASES 37 PAKISTAN PRISONERS ATTARI: Reciprocating to Pakistans move to free 151 Indian fishermen on May 26, India on Friday repatriated 37 Pak prisoners, including 32 fishermen as a goodwill gesture. I know how I spent 14 months behind bars away from my mother and motherland and that too for no fault of mine, but thanks to Narendra Modi Ill be back home now, said Akbar, 24, a Pak fisherman, who was repatriated by India on Friday. Akbar said before he had set out for fishing he had promised his mother to return soon but was arrested by a patrolling team while fishing in Indian waters. Why the governments of both India and Pakistan are delaying making some policy for people like us. We are not criminals or terrorists but poor fishermen who risk their lives to make both ends meet. I was under depression due to family tension and dont know how I crossed the border and was arrested, he said. Jail sentence has completely changed the life for another Pakistan fisherman Naz Mohammad. I have spent 16 months in jail and no one can compensate my time and loss, he said. Naz said he wouldnt go for fishing anymore since one gets into trouble without any intention. While fishing we dont know which wave will take us to India. There are no boundaries and nights are dreadful in the sea, he said. Manir Umar repented having traveled to India on fake passport. I was arrested in Kolkata and had to undergo imprisonment for two-and-a-half years, he said.
