INDICATORS FOR DEVELOPMENT There are many indicators of development. Those are Economic growth (GDP growth) , per-capita income, various indices such as Human Development index, World Hunger Index, Gender Development Index, prosperity Index, Peace Index etc .Per capita income means nominal GDP divided by total population. India is 3rd or 4th largest economy in term of purchasing power parity but around 10th in term of nominal GDP. But in term of per capita income it much below even small nation. GDP growth and per capita income rise may also happen when rich become richer and poor become poorer as evident in India and its states. But so far debate is concerned per capita is one indicator of development. When on the basis of such data, I was criticising Congress or BJD, nobody questioning my data. Those parties have never questioned about the veracity of data. But when it went against BJP/Modi, why do some people intolerant of criticism. If anybody has capacity, please contradict my data.
