INDIVISIBLE Read Ezekiel 37:1 through 38:23 Since Columbus Day - TopicsExpress

INDIVISIBLE Read Ezekiel 37:1 through 38:23 Since Columbus Day 1892, children in the United States have been reciting Francis Bellamy’s Pledge of Allegiance. While phrases have been added over time, the pledge has always included the words “one nation” and “indivisible,” expressing that a nation once divided between North and South will never be divided again. Many countries were once two or more parts. For example, Australia, Switzerland, and Canada are unions of previously independent states. “I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms” (Ezekiel 37:22). God’s interest in unifying His people has never dimmed. The prophecy of Ezekiel about a reunified Israel and Judah was later echoed in Paul’s writings, which repeatedly spoke of the Christian Church as the unification of Jew and Gentile. In both cases, it is God who unifies and God who leads the unified people. Challenge for Today: Commit to getting to know another Christian, one with whom you have little in common besides your shared faith in Jesus. Quicklook: Ezekiel 37:15–22
