INSPIRATION (Giving direction to your day) Sunday 28TH September, 2014 BOLD AS A LION Text: “The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” Prov 28:1 The Lion is not really the biggest of all animals. But somehow the Lion is a threat to every other animal. The major reason for this is the boldness of the Lion. This has made the Lion the King of the Jungle. According to scriptures the Lion does not turn away from challenges. The Lion will always make an attempt on a sited prey. It’s never afraid of other animals. Boldness is a major requirement for us to face the challenges of life. If you are not bold you’ll bow to every threat that life throws at you. The Devil himself goes about ‘like’ a roaring Lion, seeking whom to devour. He wants to scare us out of our inheritance in life. This is why we cannot afford to be timid. Timidity is never of God. The spirit of fear brings timidity into our lives so that we can run away from opportunities that life brings our way. Boldness is not a function of age or how big we are. Boldness is an inner virtue that is expressed outwardly. King Saul was quite big physically but was timid within. David was young and small but he was bold as a Lion. The threat of Goliath could not scare him away. If he had ran away from Goliath he could never had gotten to the throne he was already anointed for. The Spirit of God within us is the Spirit of boldness. It was the influence of the Holy Spirit that made David unusually bold. Samson was also an extremely bold person by the influence of the Holy Spirit. Our level of boldness will also increase as we understand our right standing with God. We are accepted in Christ, nothing is wrong with us. Christ took our sins and gave us his own righteousness. We have all the right to the blessings of God. Approach life with boldness. PRAYER: In the name of Jesus I pull down every spirit of timidity around my life. I take on the boldness of the Spirit. LEARN MORE: 2 Cor 5:21, 2 Tim 1:7, Heb 4:16
