INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD Someone asked me to give them practical steps to building an intimate relationship with Father God. Ive also been asked many times how someone can have what I have, a deep, intimate relationship with God. Ive always winced at the thought of steps and methods when speaking of God, because He is like the wind, He just cannot and will not be contained or put in a box. But this question clearly has merit. It is the message ive been asked to carry and release among believers in this day and time. So I am going to pray and ask the Spirit of the Living God for revelation to share... Intimate relationship with God comes from relentless pursuit... on our part... on His part... it comes from total surrender of our all in all to have all of God... the rest comes during fellowship and relationship... Father and child, being adopted into the family of God... falling in love with the One who loved us first, His love found in Christ our King, our Savior, our Lover, our Bridegroom as we are His Bride... He pours Himself into us to live and reign in and through us... and we become joint-heirs with Him on His throne at the right hand of God. Relationship is established, trust takes root and grows into a beautiful enveloping love affair. We commune with Him daily... our eyes and ears are His, we see what He sees, hear what He hears... we reach out according to the Fathers will to touch the lives of others much like Christ did while walking on earth, doing as we see the Father do, saying what we hear Him say... but there is more, oh so much more... As we step out of our boats into the deep, where deep cry out to deep, we walk in the heavenly dimension and commune with Him... it is so beautiful in those places... those precious times of worship and praise in the garden with the Father growing close to His heart... times of mentoring with the Holy Spirit, of speaking with our lover, Jesus... and we become full of the oil of heaven, like the olive, ready to be crushed for its giving... and so we are just that... and we release heaven on earth... yes its true, we are citizens of Heaven now... we are fountains of Christ, carriers of Heaven, carriers of the Glory within us... we were once lost now we are found, we were once carnal, we are now dead to ourselves and alive with Christ firmly founded in us... and we long, we burn to bear fruit to our lover, instinctively to win souls to Him as a wife longs to bear fruit of her womb of their love to her husband... to the Kingdom... this is a walk toward the perfecting of the faith... we will do as Christ did and even greeter things to come... and so we go deeper into the Father Heart of God to see things, do things, igniting every spiritual gift within us as Christ had them all and He is within us... it is no longer us, we are no longer our own... we are now who we are in Christ... this is what He died for, this is what Father God paid such a high ransom for... to see our destiny fulfilled... It is a glorious thing to have the privilege, the honor to be called, to be chosen for the commission... to walk in Christ... to walk in the garden and enjoy intimate family relationship with Daddy God... to dance and sing with the angels and hosts of heaven, even now while still on earth... to experience heaven NOW. Jesus tore the veil, the portal is open... come, and see for yourselves... Daddy Gods arms are open, your Bridegroom invites you in... the Spirit of the Living God draws your heart... come and be refreshed... come and be renewed... come and see all that awaits you, all that has always been meant to be for your relationship with your creator... If you want this type of intimate relationship for yourself... pray this prayer out loud for all to hear... Father God... Daddy God... Holy Spirit, My Bridegroom Jesus... I stand before you, before Heaven and earth, before God and man... and I ask you, Lord... to do a work in my heart, that I might not settle for the ordinary, but long for the extraordinary... I pray you break every ounce, drop of apathy and religiosity out of me right now, Lord... and cause me to long, to yearn and to burn, for deep, intimate relationship with You. I want this more than anything in my life. I lay down my life right now, Lord. I take up my cross and follow in the footsteps of Jesus, that my carnal nature would die right here and now, and the life of Christ might be conceived and come alive in me once and for all... Holy Spirit I pray you would mentor me in the things of God all the days of my life... make my body Your temple and build this house like never before... make me a house of God, a tree planted by the river of God to bear fruit in its season... Father God I ask that you would welcome me into Your heart, welcome me into Your garden to fellowship, to commune with You... Forgive me for my stoic spiritual life up to this point, it is all I have ever known. But today I want to call You Daddy... today i want to call You my Daddy God... I want to jump into Your arms as Your child... I want to run in the meadow that is your garden and laugh and play, maybe fly a kite with You... shine Your Glory on me, Lord that I might continue, all the days of my life to be made more and more into Your image... in Jesus name... oh, how I long for intimate relationship with You, Lord... do whatever You have to do in me, whatever it takes, whatever the cost... and let it flow off of me onto others... that it might be contagious and touch the lives of others as well.
