INTRODUCTION TO MODERN COMPROMISE Isa. 59:4 No one calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; they conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. What is compromise? It is a kind of settlement in which each side volunteers to give up what it has asked for. In the end, you discover that neither side gets all it asked for. We are gradually compromising our stand with God when we water down expressed will of God to make the truth appealing and therefore acceptable to us. This is an age of the it doesnt matter syndrome. Indeed nothing really matters. There several ways of explaining anything away. Thus says the Lord is replaced by thus says the learned professor or worldly acclaimed scientist. The commandment to remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy Exodus 20:4 is replaced by it doesnt really matter. The important thing is to select one day of 24 hours and keep it holy. It may be Sunday or Tuesday or Thursday. Therefore many Christian churches keep other days of the week holy apart from the Sabbath. In some settings, it is hard to differentiate between the Christian and non-Christian. They are alike in several ways - go the same place of entertainment, drink the same wines, live similar lives of the flesh, and do what every other person is doing in the community. No difference of any kind. What is coming upon the world will involve everyone taking a specific stand. The little compromises that Satan is bringing in to water down the truth will not stand on the way of the Christian to defend his faith. Every discourse should be given under the sense of the awful judgements soon to fall on the world.... May God help His people to arouse and walk and work as men and women on the borders of the eternal world Testimonies, Vol.8, p.37. We have been compromising our stand little by little. And the difference that should exist between Christian and the world is almost lacking in many cases. Therefore presenting Gods last warning message to mankind (Rev. 14:6-8) is not with the necessary zeal or urgency. Had the purpose of God been told to the world, and the message of mercy, Christ would, ere this, have come to the earth and the saints would have received their welcome to the city of God, Vol. 6, p. 450. A lovely Friday and, happy Sabbath in advance to all my Adventist friends. Goodmorning.
