IRBS would like to thank all participants who took part in their recent Castlemilk/Rutherglen Anti-Internment parade and extend our sincere thanks to the support shown from the irish/community in the Castlemilk area especially. IRBS are in dialogue along with members of the local irish community from both areas and their will be a joint statement released in the near future . All involved fully believe we have the right as equals within our society in a democratic Scotland to march in any village, town or city if applied for in the proper manner to which we fully comply. As events that occurred at last saturdays parade are still on going, IRBS as a whole have decided we will not bring our organisation in the lead up to the most important decision in Scotlands history into disrepute by persons branding our organisation as sectarian, we are a non sectarian organisation and will not be branded as so. In the interests of all sections of society we will not be seen to bring the referendum in to disrepute by bringing trouble onto our streets by sectarian bigots with an alternative motive so near to the 18th september and we urge all supporters to vote YES and end british rule in Scotland. With this in mind IRBS have taken the decision to withdraw the permit for saturday 13th september,2014 Mickey Devine commemoration but will now be commemorating this event along with the ICA commemoration on the 20th september,2014 as a joint commemoration. IRBS would hope that all republicans would come out in support of these commemorations on the 20th september,2014 to show the wider population of Scotland that we will not be treated as second class citizens now or in the future to which hopefully on this day we will be equal citizens in an independent scotland.
