IRIS THE OFFICE CAT AT CANNING TOWN BRANCH IS STILL SEEKING A NEW HOME.... Iris is a beautiful medium long haired cat. She is about 2 ½ years old. Poor Iris was sold on Gumtree 2 years ago and then sold again on Gumtree recently to someone who had only kept her for a few days before they took her to us. Iris was terrified and for the first few days nobody was able to get near her. When we contacted the person who had her for two years we were told that she had been a lovely cat but they just didn’t want her anymore. Somewhere down the line something unpleasant must have happened to Iris to put her in such a state. Iris has now improved a great deal. She is now happy to be stroked on her own terms and also loves her catnip! Iris is very affectionate and needy sometimes, but grouchy at other times. She needs a cat psychiatrist!! Iris does not like other cats and therefore must be the only cat in her new home. Iris currently resides in the reception office at Canning Town Branch and can often be spotted sleeping in any paperwork or filing that needs to be done. However she really just needs a proper home of her own.
