IRONMAN 70.3 2014 MEDAL & TROPHY Recently held in the province of Cebu last August 3, the Ironman 70.3 once again tapped Kenneth Cobonpue to design this years finisher’s medal and trophy. The event is one of the most popular sporting events in Asia, drawing 2,500 participants from more than 30 countries. Inspired by an age-old story of creation (the origin of humanity coming from a split bamboo), this year’s medal is made out of small bamboo poles. The unique piece veers away from the traditional flat medal design with the bamboo carrying miniature figures representing the three sporting events of Ironman. It is the third year for Cobonpue to design the medal.
