IRRATIONALITY AT ANY COST by Gianluca Oriente Western philosophy has its origin in Socrates and Plato. They changed Greek man with dialectic- a new kind of superfetation of logic, as Nietzsche said. Before this fatal mistake Athens was proud of its noble instincts. There wasn’t still a need of a cure and a doctor. Everything was still rich of power and truth. Caryatids shone into the moonlight. Why did the Greeks collapse? Because their history was at an end. Their insincts became old and sick- like a supernova who bursts in the universe. It was anarchy and décadence of instincts. Socrates was an ugly man who belonged to the rabble. He had this barbed malice and a snub nose. He was erotic... and fascinated young men with his : demon. This kind of divine inspiration which he pretended to have within himself like a sort of prompter of rationality was a pitless instrument of lie to demolish his opponents intellect. Like Jesus Christ who had his father to solve any problems. In front of these men you do not have any chance to make it because they have got a stronger presumption of logic than you. They say that they are the truth, . But this is just logic and it is that kind of bad logic which has been called dialectic which is a mix of religion and Greek philosophy. In a few words dialecticians give a false meaning to anything they touch. If they want that one thing is red when it is green they will persuade you until die that it is red. Why is it red? Because God says so. In the same way did Socrates. Why is rationality better than passions? Because δαίμων said this. Why did the Greeks believe in these stupidities? Because they still did not know what logic was. At that time there were some philosophical sects full of mad men - presocratics philosophers - which believe in several, different and contrastating things (the great Heraclitus was one of them). Most of them were aristocratic men and disdained society. , they said. They do not have a need to persuade somebody to their esoteric philosophy. They were all fanatics. for them was a sort of agony and war of healthy instincts. Why was Socrates a new type of thinker? Why did Parmenides and also some other ones follow the same way? Why were they so full of dubt? They wanted rationality at any cost because they had lost the natural connection to life. They were sick and logic became an expedient, a psychotropic drug. For the first time the Greeks were scared of the dark! That Socratic demon was like a fatal eclipse which threw Hellenes downwards. In front of this chaos of instincts and antagonistic fragments of life there would be only a chance of salvation: to believe in the opposite of life, to believe in the false light of a human reason which had lost the gods and the earth meanining. Life became a thing, no more just a symptomp of something living. But as Nietzsche said life is a symptomp: it is a cave of living instincts (the cave of man, the cave of his values between good and evil). Man isnt a fact, a real thing, an object, or a mere judgment. He is much more than a philosophical theory. Let us not forget that he belongs to fate (life). So whats a symptomp? Its a feeling of good health. It is also happiness and bravery. If you are not ill there is no reason for being scared. But illness still is part of our fate like the death. Those things arent still objection to life. WE DO ALL WE CAN DO! So The Greeks did in their golden age when Dionysos made orgies. Life flowed undisturbed under the blazing Pantheon. Women and men were asleep in a marble dream: proud, beautiful, (a turgid truth). Their love growing up in the shining light! Everything growing up. What happend later? Scorates raised, rabble raised. The lowest instincts of Hellenes raised on top. It was anarchy and decay of Athenian society. It was décadence of all the aristocratic pleasures. It was the time for the tyranny of reason. Everything became sick, even the aristocratics. Revolt and revenge on them was the silent intent of rabble. The slaves wanted to play the tyrant. They wanted tyranny above all so they invented dialectic. But nobody can hide to himself for a log time the will to power of life, those feelings which breake any kind of jail; it does not care if you are rabble or Caesar. Why did Hellenes still prefer sickness of action to a creative action? Why the reason? Why the solution of all problems? Why did they consider life a problem to solve? Because after of all Europe and the whole Western world were waiting for their birth. So the Socratic thought, the Christian thought (all the dialectical manner of making things- the ressentiment of rabble, the human being devitalization, the dialecticians, the philosophy in general: idealisms, and so on...) spread the entire morality of improvement as a disease on will to power of mankind which fortunately is still alive under the paper surface.
