IS GHANA CLEAN ENOUGH? Whenever there is talk or mention of any potential disease outbreak there is some panic and concern and then attempts to place feeble plasters on bigger problems! The fact is for centuries our forefathers/mothers have brought us up to be clean and to manage our environments cleanly and yet today we see many of our beaches dirty, cities filthy, waste unmanaged etc! Malaria, Cholera, Meningitis, Typhoid, Ebola, Worms/Parasites .. all searching for places to flourish in parts of Ghana today? All diseases thrive on filth, stagnant and unclean water and Accra (in particular) and many parts of Ghana are simply disgracefully and unhealthily filthy! Individuals must be tasked to keep their environments clean but governments and government agencies must also step up their responsibilities and get our cities (in particular) clean and help change that culture of i dont care. The fact that previous governments did not maintain our environments does not mean that the trend should continue! Politicians (whom most people see as the same irrespective of flag/party) we want you to be less sensitive and more productive ... the word after all is servitude if we all understand what is expected of you, why dont you?
