IS NIGERIA TRULY THE GLOBAL CAPITAL OF CORRUPTION AND IMPUNITY? It is unfortunate that Nigeria is regarded as the global capital of corruption and impunity as result of the corruption analysis index factors conducted on the citizens and their institutions. But the truth of the matter is that not every Nigerians are corrupt and despite magnitude corruption in many institutions there is still hope that in future Nigeria will be free from corruption. On August, 28, 1963, 51 years ago at the Lincoln memorial Washington DC Martin Luther King, Jr, Clergyman, activist and prominent leader in the African-American civil rights movement delivered a speech I have a dream and that dream actually came into fruition many years later.In addition if we skim through the history of a nation like Australia that was founded by criminals in corrupt British people you will have HOPE for Nigeria. Australia was worse than what Nigeria is today, but over a tediously long time, it cleaned up its mess and has now become a prosperous, law-abiding nation and a leader of the free world.Singapore is another good example of great transformation and change. However to be candid and factual its obvious that many Nigerians regardless of their level of education are selfish and corrupt as they continue to drink from the stream of corruption and impunity coupled with wealth acquisitions at dangerous trend and by unconscious neglect of impending revolution ahead. Nevertheless, there are many hard- working, honest, straight forward, articulate, industrious, diligent, forensic minded, reliable, intelligent Nigerians who control astounding wealth that was not ill gotten.These Nigerians dont cut corners, they dont over - invoice they work hard and God blessed them.They are men and women who do not celebrate the egregious behaviours of graft, greed and gluttony. We may not know them , but there are people in all sectors of the society who have not soiled their fingers with thievery and graft.......Yes of course contrary to what some NON -NIGERIANS may believe, we are not all THIEVES! and at the same time the change is imminent and how it will happen, time will actually tell and as intellectual revolution continue to occupy the position of mediocrity, definitely there is a great HOPE ahead.....WE ARE NOT ALL THIEVES!
