IS THE CHURCH READY? Today I went on a walk and sat down at a park to pray. While I was sitting there meditating on the Word of God, the Spirit of God told me the following: There was a Moslem man who had 3 wives and 6 children and they were all living together in one of the western countries. One day this man was sitting down in his living room holding the T.V remote in his hand just flicking down the channels looking for something to watch. He can across one of the Christian channels and as he was about to change the channel something told him to wait and watch for a minute. This man saw a lady giving a testimony of how Jesus had healed her of cancer after she was prayed for by the Man of God who was hosting the T.V program. After the woman had finished testifying, the Man of God praise God for healing the woman and immediately invited everyone who was sick wherever they were to join with him in faith so that God will heal them too. He asked the viewers to place their right hand wherever they were feeling pains and to close their eyes in prayer. The Muslim man remembered how he too was suffering from severe back and neck pains that had gone on for over 2 years and that he couldn’t get any help anywhere even after countless visits to the doctors. Without thinking much about it, the Muslim man just placed one hand on his back not really convinced that anything would change. The man of God on T.V prayed and said: “Father, in the name of Jesus, you that has healed this woman of cancer, you that said there is nothing impossible with you, right now Lord I ask you to heal everyone under the sound of my voice and all those watching me right now on their televisions and computers. In the name of Jesus, I command every sickness, every disease, every pain in their tissues, in their skin, in their muscles, in their bones to leave right now, in the name of Jesus. Father, I thank you for healing them, in Jesus’ mighty name, AMEN.” To his greatest surprise, the Muslim man discovered that all the pains in his back and neck had disappeared suddenly and he was healed. He began to thank Jesus. He called his wives and children together and explained what had happened and told the family that he had discovered that Jesus was real and that from that day they will all start going to church to worship God. They knew of a local church in their neighbourhood and early Saturday morning they went there. The spirit of God asked me how I think they were received in this church. He said the church of today will most probably be hesitant in embracing these new Christians. He said many of you church people will laugh and mock and ridicule the man for his many wives. He said the ‘holier than thou’ crowd in your midst will write off this man’s chances of entering heaven. His wives will be looked down on and even some of your elders will even suggest that he sends some of his wives away so that God may accept him. Brethren the Spirit of God told me these are the last days and God has gone into overdrive in pulling his children out of darkness but many in the church will become a stumbling block for these new converts. The Spirit of God has been poured out already and amazing things are happening but many of you don’t see these things because you have fallen into religion just like the Pharisees who knew the law in and out but couldn’t enter the Lord’s salvation. The law will not save you. Don’t you know what the Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.” How then do some of you say I am better than that one.? How then do you say your church is better than that one? Brethren, humble yourselves before God and stop getting carried away by church names. The name will not save you but what you do there will save you. When Jesus comes, He won’t ask you how many sermons did you preach or how many Sabbaths were you in church. He will say to you, “You saw me hungry and you did not feed me, I was sick and you did not visit me, I was cold and you did not give me a coat.” During Paul’s time there were some who caused a lot of trouble by claiming no one could be accepted by God unless they are circumcised or until they obeyed and celebrated certain Jewish feasts. Paul rebuked these people in Timothy Chapter 1. Brethren I urge you to pray more so that you will be ready to welcome the children of God when the Holy Spirit brings them. Pray so you will be led by the Spirit of God. Grow and move from the ABCs of Christianity and move to solid food. God is not your grandpa and He doesn’t think and act like you. His ways are not your ways. Once again brethren, it is by grace that you will make it to heaven. SHALOM
