ISLAM SNIPPET OF THE MORNING: What is THE biggest difference between Islam and Chrstianity? The gulf, the chasm, the difference that separates us is the Christian belief in Trinity and the deity of Jesus (Isa in Arabic), peace be upon him. Muslims are strict monotheists, and we believe that only God, the One God, is worthy of worship. We believe in Jesus, peace be upon him, as a prophet, but not as God or the son of God. Most non-Muslims do not even know that we accept Jesus, peace be upon him, as a miracle, as the Messiah, as a prophet. We do! We believe that his mother Maryam, peace be upon her, was one of the best of women in all of creation. Indeed, there is a whole chapter in the Quran, our scripture, named after her. God chose her and he caused her to conceive a child. Just as He created Adam, peace be upon him, without father or mother, and Eve, peace be upon her, with out father or mother in the gestational sense, but out of the rib of Adam, He created Jesus, peace be upon him, out of nothing. He simply said Be! and what he willed came to pass. And this is easy for God, who created the whole universe and all that is in it.
