ISLAMIC PROOFS AND SOLUTIONS RELATING TO EPIDEMICS Alhamdulillahilathee jhalaqal insaan wa khalaqa kula shayin,wa Anta nuru wa qayyimus-samawati walardhi wa man fihina wa sorlatu was-Salamu ala Muhammad wa ala aalihi wastana bis-sunati ila yawmidin. I want to remind myself&all that Islam gave a solution to every problem,calamity,difficulty etc Allah says in chpt 94:5&6:So verily with every difficulty,there is relief: Verily,with every difficulty,there is relief. We see that Allah emphasised this verse to show that whatever difficulties we encounter,Allah always provides a way out,a solution,a way to lead to ease&happiness not after the difficulty but with it,if only we follow HIS path&show our faith by repentance&patience. HE Azzawajal knows we are sinners but wants us to repent sincerely&refrain from our evil deeds.Allah has the power to destroy this whole generation&create another who will be grateful of HIS bounties&seek HIS repentance but HE hasnt becauses HE loves us very much SubhaanaAllah! When faced with such calamities,Allah exhorts us saying:Nay,seek(Allahs)help with patient perseverance&prayer:it is indeed hard,except to those who are humble. Who bear in mind the certainty that they are to meet their Lord,and that they are to return to HIM.(chpt 2:45&46) The victory of attaining Paradise&being saved from Hell will only be won by those who patiently rely only on HIM during difficulties in shaa Allah.Thus we should not lose hope in Allahs Mercy verily,HE forgives all sins. It was narrated by AbduLlah bin Amir bin Rabi’a that:Umar bin Al-Khattab left for Sham&when he reached a place called Sargh,he came to know that there was an outbreak of an epidemic (plague) in Sham.Then AbdurRahman bin Awf told him that Allahs Apostle said:If you hear the news of an outbreak of an epidemic(plague)in a certain place,do not enter that place&if the epidemic falls in a place while you are present in it,do not leave that place to escape from the epidemic. So Umar(radiyAllahu anhu)returned from Sargh. Aisha(radiyAllahu anha)narates that she asked Allah’s Apostle about plague and he(sorllaAllahu alaihi was-Salam)informed her saying:plague was a punishment which Allah used to send on whom HE wishes,but Allah made it a blessing for the believers.None(among the believers)remains patient in a land in which plague has broken out&considers that nothing will befall him except that which Allah has ordained for him,but that Allah will grant him a reward similar to that of a martyr. (Al Bukhari) Also,Amir bin Sad bin Abi Waqqas narrates that he heard Usama bin Zaid speaking to Sad saying Allahs apostle mentioned the plague&said:It is a means of punishment with which some nations were punished&some of it has remained&it appears now&then.So whoever hears that there is an outbreak of plague in some land,he should not go to that land&if the plague breaks out in the land where one is already present,one should not run away from that land,escaping from the plague. Islam has said these thousands of years back but because we are ignorant&heedless of our religion,we fail to take the advice of Islam into consideration thus resulting to an increase in the death rate.We are afraid of loosing what(our lives)does not actually belong to us so some decided to become slaves of socerers leading them to commit shirkul Azza wa jal. Those whove failed to adhere to the advices of Allah,HIS rasul&our health professionals by ensuring that they avoid spreading the disease,will be held accountable for their wickedness. Our only way out now is to seek Allahs Forgiveness&Mercy as much as possible&biithnillahi Taala well attain HIS bliss in this world&the hereafter. O Allah!Your decree concerning us is just,banish our sadness&relieve our distress.Protect us,our family&our health practitioners for YOU alone owns our salvation Aameen
