COO – Mobile Marketing The COO of Mobile Marketing & Advertising (MMA) will ensure maximum profitable growth of the MMA business by meeting and exceeding agreed financial and customer loyalty/delight targets, with a particular focus on ensuring sales and marketing operational performance and execution in the 31 countries in the Caribbean and South Pacific where we are present. This will be achieved by building SMART objectives to reach and exceed these targets and, in turn, building and executing sound, competitively differentiated and sustainable business strategies and operating models to meet these objectives. Key levers of success will lie in identifying, attracting, retaining and stimulating the most valuable customer, publisher and advertiser segments across multiple verticals, in adapting our products and customer experience strategies to the specific needs of the many and varied geographic markets in which we have a network presence and in providing truly inspirational leadership to our employees and partners. All of the MMA-related sales, marketing and operational resources in each of the 31 markets, plus the central HQ product marketing, product management, marcoms, finance and process/reporting functions will report to the COO, MMA. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Fully accountable for the monthly and annual P&L of the Mobile Marketing & Advertising (MMA) business in terms of topline revenue, EBITDA and net profit. Responsible for providing leadership, direction, and the successful implementation of MMA’s operational objectives aimed at delivering revenue/EBITDA targets as agreed with the Board of Directors as detailed below Lead, develop and oversee execution of overall business strategies to reach and/or exceed revenues/EBITDA and customer loyalty/delight targets for MMA across all 31 markets, as agreed with the Board/Group SMT, with a particular focus on sales conversion funnel and product roadmap rollout in each market Develop and execute strategies to widen and deepen the footprint of the current business to include completely new types of revenue, customer and product in order to harness Group and partner synergy potential. This will include being the voice of the customer and the local markets at Board level to ensure customer needs and wants are prioritized appropriately and adapted optimally to the peculiarities and specifics of each local market Provide general oversight of all business activities, manages the day-to-day operations of the MMA business, and assures a smoothly functioning, efficient organization; Create annual, monthly, weekly and daily operating plans that support strategic direction of business to ensure customer satisfaction, revenue and profitability goals are met; Oversee development and implementation of policies and procedures designed to maximize work efficiency and foster strong collaboration amongst cross-functional and multi-cultural teams; Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiate corrective actions to minimize impact of variances with an exceptionally high level of granularity; Oversee capture and analytics of business intelligence data and drive implementation of commercial plans to maximize revenues; Play a key role in all business development activities including the assessment and development of MMA opportunities for existing Digicel markets, from developing operating plans to negotiating with local markets to obtain funding; Lead annual budgeting process with local markets to agree on revenue/EBITDA targets, strategic plans, and required OPEX to deliver revenue and operational goals; Responsible for implementing and streamlining business policies and procedures including Human Resources, Financial Reporting, Business Channel Management, and Distributor Contracts; Responsible for leading talent acquisition and development in line with the company’s goals including training and benchmarking of compensation structures; Oversee the fiscal activities of the Diaspora business including budgeting, reporting and audit; Represent the organization for civic and professional association responsibilities and activities in the local community. Academic qualifications & experience: Hands-on, tough and seasoned operational player with prior successful P&L responsibility Digital, internet era advertising industry experience, preferably both buyer and agency sides of the coin, pre-Internet “Mad Men” advertising experience a plus if combined with digital age MBA preferred; International experience a major plus, equally French/Spanish language skills Telecoms industry experience/exposure, especially mobile, also a major plus.
