At the end of the year if they are assessed as competent, they will graduate from the Academy and either proceed to employment outside of HDS or, if HDS considers that they are employable within the HDS community, they could proceed to the 2nd year of the Internship programme.(Intern D) Intern D programme 2nd year intern – usually after Alite year – fewer courses – more HDS Academy orientated learning- designated for on-going internal employment,-able to be more independent & perform work functions for HDS Group is “Project Managed” by Academy on Customer Site, but interns will attend selected classes at Academy. Customer to choose 6 Elective classes and 2 workshops from the list below, for group to undertake. All interns have the benefit of a personal coach and Academy mentorship in addition to the HDS onsite mentorship. § Advanced Excel § SNIA Concepts § HDS Storage Foundation § HUSVM § Server + § Security + § Introduction to Brocade, switches & zoning (workshop) § VSP installation & Administration (workshop) § Backups (workshop) § Operating Systems (workshop) § Replication (workshop) § Introduction to Mainframe Storage § Customer Care § Enhanced Presentation § Sales § Service Management (workshop) § Enhanced Business Writing The Intern Ds are assessed twice a year by Academy facilitators and will be expected to complete at least 1 internationally recognised certification. At the end of the year they will compile a report and conduct a presentation. After completion of the year, they will have completed their tenure under the Academy and will be ready to be employed by HDS /partners/customer.
