ITM Yellow Flag Awards 2014 The ITM’s Yellow Flag project began in 2008 with four schools taking part in an initiative which saw students focussing on projects and workshops that helped them to think about and celebrate multi-culturalism and ethnic diversity. This year marks a high point in the project with over 50 schools from all around Ireland taking part and receiving their awards in Liberty Hall in Dublin. Travellers of all ages take a leading role in the Yellow Flag projects, from parents and teachers to the young students who get the chance to show off and celebrate their culture and ethnicity through cooking, language projects, art, poetry and more. Some of these displays were set out in the foyer of Liberty Hall and it was heart warming to mini-replicas of Traveller barrel wagons alongside African traditional masks and artwork that the kids had created together. Throughout the ceremony there was singing, poetry and displays of art and other talents on the stage. Bracken Educate Together school from Balbriggan deserve a special mention for their wonderful musical performance. So for 2014 it was 50 schools being awarded in Liberty Hall. But let’s look forward to the day when every school in Ireland takes part and Croke Park is needed to house the event!. _______ FOLLOW LIPSapp Classic Radio _______ FB: r-js/1vz7Pcz / TW: r-js/1kHd2Qt / Listen to LIPSapp Classic Radio r-js/1dOIQ18 #classicrock #rollingstones #ledzeppelin #santana #eagles #zztop #thewho #beatles #elvis #jimihendrix #dylan #acdc #michaeljackson #pinkfloyd #madonna #u2
