ITS A PRETTY INCREDIBLE PART OF THE WORLD WE LIVE IN here in Eastern North Carolina. With all the hatred that comes to the forefront on the National News, its good to know that around here, people still care about one another. As we wrap up this Christmas Day and our 2nd Annual Christmas at Crispinos, we want to thank our Volunteers (Elves), most of who served last year...we could NOT have made this happen without you!!! We also found a few new Elves, and they really completed the whole picture - it was a real team in action - if you werent there, you should have seen it! Because of people like Ona Scruggs (an Elf from last year). we were able to add dessert tables this year for people to just come up to and help themselves to some sweet treats - we had so much dessert that tomorrow, all the sweets that we couldnt find tummies for will be at the Jacksonville Blood Drive to help out there. We sent Pizza and Soup to Morehead City Police, Dispatch, and Fire, Atlantic Beach Fire and Police, Carteret General ER Staff, and the staffs at the Senior Assisted Living Facilities of Harbor View and Crystal Bluffs. We also had Christmas Stockings for the kids jammed packed with toys and goodies donated by Laureen Jones (a new Elf). We also had one young man of 15 (a new Elf) with a Learners Permit (and driving with his Father and Family) deliver to a homeless man behind one of our shopping centers and then follow that up with trips to Fire/Police and then a Senior Center. How bout we teach THAT to our kids!! We had people from age 10ish to 70 making pizza today - some volunteers, some customers. Wed REALLY Like To Thank our Loyal Customers (YOU are the real winners that make ALL OF THIS possible by coming in day in/day out, and enjoying our food). Wed also like to thank Thunder Country 96.3 FM, Williams Hardware, Harris Teeter, The Double Tree Hotel Atlantic Beach, Carteret News Times, Time Warner Cable News (Ch 14), and SYSCO Raleigh - all of you are winners that understand that community matters.
