ITS A SWITCH, NOT A BRANCH OR A STICK... Down south, born and raised in Birmingham, AL I got whippings as a kid, so did my brother and sister. I dont hate my mother, grandmother or father, nor do my siblings, we are all successful because our FATHER, MOTHER and GRANDMOTHER took the time to break it off in your butts to let us know when we were doing something wrong. AND FOR THAT, I SAY THANK YOU VERY MUCH... But today we have some folks who are so high and mighty, they tend to believe that they know how to raise your children better than you do. For me.. If you dont whip your kids, fine.. WHY?? Because its none of my business how you discipline your children. As long as you arent locking them up in closets, starving them half to death and beating them with your fist, I can truly say that its none of my business.. Its a parents choice on how they choose to discipline their child. NOT SOCIETY... So, for all you media types who like to get on TV and sight this study and that study showing that corporal punishment doesnt work for this or that reason... Do me a favor, keep it to yourself.. Until you debate the folks that rebuff your arguments, talking to the mirror doesnt impress me.. BTW, its called a switch.. Its not a branch, or a stick.. No good parent whips their child with a stick or a branch. A switch is the smallest limb on a bush, pulled away from a branch.. Your media hype taking out of context what the tool is called just proves my point. Your credibility is shot when you cant use the correct terms..
