Bright Spica visible low in the east in the constellation of Virgo with Saturn now in view just before twilight in the east southeast horizon. Have Geminid meteor shower. Use the planet Jupiter as a guide since its in the proximity of the constellation Leo. Orion now in the west southwest (west in the equatorial and northwest for those in the southern hemisphere). Finally saw Vega along with Deneb and Capella swapping places. Vega viewed towards the west in the evening makes the return in the northeast before dawn. Capella in the northeast at sunset in now in the west at dawn. Basically most of the Spring constellations can be viewed in the morning just before dawn. Fire weather which included red flag watch/warning and fire weather watch/warning, fire hot spots. Severe weather which includes hail, tornadic, and high winds. Severe thunderstorm watch/warning boxes marked in blue and tornado watch/warnings are flagged in red as the day progresses. The radar summary maps are updated frequently through out the day. Flooding and severe weather conditions from New England south into the Middle Atlantic States. National Radar Summary and Cadillac MI Radar Sector as of 0800 / 8AM EST. Have high surf, small craft, gale and wind warnings for Hawaii. Have snow in the Maritimes, Lower Saint Lawrence, and New England areas with no radar cell returns. Lower Mississippi Valley, Ozarks and Texas has developing showers and possible thunderstorms today with cells currently at 20,000 to 30,000 (200 to 300) feet. Western Northern and Central Plains has showers ahead of the weather front with no radar returns. Have a frontal line of showers, in the higher elevations can expect snow, heavy snow and thunder snow in all areas of the Rocky Mountains from Alberta south into Arizona and New Mexico with cells up to 25,000 (coded 250) feet. Pacific Northwest, British Columbia south into California has showers with cells up to 20,000 (coded 200) feet. Have a great and safe weekend.
