ITS TIME TO UNITE TO BUILD GOD’S KINGDOM Jesus taught people to follow Him and teach others how Mark 6:34 …and he began to teach them many things. Jesus taught believers to pray for workers and labours Matthew.9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. The Lord taught us compassion by giving all He had. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life Where are all of the souls that should be saved today after 2,000 years of Bible training? Are people any different today in the desire to reach the lost then they were in Jesus’ time? What keeps us from reaching out with compassion to win souls for the Kingdom of God? As Jesus’ followers, compassion for the needs and sufferings of others should lead us to action. We can help someone who is sick and pray for them in Jesus name. We may not be able to miraculously feed the hungry like Jesus did. But, we can help bring food to the hungry, there are many ways to do this. We may not be able to teach like Jesus. But we can go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe everything Jesus commanded In Mark 2:1-12we read of the paralytics need and how it moved his friends to action. The action they took was to bring their friend to Jesus. There are many people who have both physical and spiritual needs you can meet or help meet. This can be done by yourself or with others who also are concerned. We see how the human need moved his four friends to action, may it also move you to an action that is compassionate. How many people truly try to even talk to their neighbours and who are our neighbours if not all of mankind? If we become too engrossed with our own problems and comforts we will never be able or bother to reach out to the lost. Should we let comfort keep us from striving to reach out to the unsaved? We can all pray for the lost and that the Lord will send labourers into the field. If we have trouble teaching people can’t we at least invite people to come to church or home groups to be taught? Be an encourager of those who are going out in the field help them befriend them and pray for them, because they will be under demonic attack. They will need to be spiritually covered with all of our prayers. There has been so much mercy that God has had upon our lives. And the one thing we need do is to show mercy unto others. Pity and compassion should overflow our hearts for the poor, aged, lost, lonely, wayward, hungry, empty, orphaned, diseased, hungry, unclothed and hurting and much more .. The important point is for us to see is that the believer no longer has a right to overlook the needy of the world if we are claiming to be His disciples, His missionaries.. How many of us could say that we have that same kind of compassion for our fellow man? What about our families? Often times we are least compassionate to ward those we love the most. Who have you shown compassion to lately? Who needs to be shown some compassion? How can you incorporate showing compassion to people in your everyday life? All you have to do is ask yourself, What Would Jesus Do? Pray and ask our Father and the answer will become crystal clear.
